Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door Shine Sprites

  • In Hooktail castle in the room to the right of where Koops finds the skeleton holding a note.
  • In Hooktail castle in the room where you first meet Ms Mouz.
  • In Hooktail castle near the door leading to the outdoor rooftop path that leads to Hooktail’s lair.


In the room with the Thousand Year Door next to the door leading to the Cave of 100 trials, take the spring up to a shine sprite.

 

  • In the Boggly woods when Mario must travel up the warp pipe to the paper plane floor piece. To the left of the plane square, use Koops’ shell attack to grab the shine sprite.
  •  This is in the Great Boggly tree in the room after the puzzle where the Punnies must be turned into bubbles and blown across a gap. Blow away the round object to reveal an airplane square. Fly to the right to another airplane square and fly to the left to find a shine sprite.
  • Right after Mario learns his butt stomp in the Boggly Tree, smash through the wooden floor boards and fall onto some raised platforms. Stay on top of the platforms and make your way to the background where there is a shine sprite.
  • When Mario drains the water in the flooded room in the Great Boggly Tree, go to the room below and jump across the lilly pads to find a shine sprite.
  • To the left of the juice bar in Glitzville there is a shine sprite. Use Koops’ shell attack to reveal a box under the shine sprite enabling Mario to reach it.
  • In the store room behind the Glitz Pit, make your way to the second floor to grab another shine sprite.
  • On the very east side of Rogueport, use Yoshi to jump across the gap in front of the bridge. Climb onto the roof and hop across the gap once again with Yoshi. Travel to the left of the chimney to find another shine sprite.
  • In the room under Rogueport that contains the warp pipes to Petalburg and the Boggly tree there is a shine sprite on the second level. Mario must have his super hammer attack to reach this.
  • Drop down the grate in west Rogueport and use Yoshi to jump to the left to find another shine sprite.
  • In the forest on the way to the Creepy Steeple, after using the underground hole to get around the boulder, jump behind the next tree to reveal a hidden shine sprite.


At the bottom of the well in front of the Creepy Steeple.
  • In the Creepy Steeple in the room after the sliding door at the bottom of the well there is another shine sprite.
  • In West Rogueport in the first house when entering the area, walk upstairs and roll into a tube to travel through a small hole against the right hand wall. This takes Mario behind the house to find a shine sprite.
  • In the back room of Bobbery’s house there is a shine sprite.


In the jungle on Keelhaul Key, in the area with the cave leading to a second, higher level. Search on the left side of the platform and use Yoshi to reach a box off the edge.
  • In the jungle on Keelhaul Key, in the area after the bridge in front of the coconut tree, there is a shine sprite hidden under a tree.
  • The first time Mario encounters a half sunken ship in the caves on Keelhaul key, walk to the highest point on the ship and jump up to reveal a shine sprite.
  • In the cave on Keelhaul Key, there is an area with a save box and a climb to a waterfall. Get the shine sprite at the top of this area by throwing Bobbery at it.
  • In the store room in the cave on Keelhaul Key, use the lift and hop on the counterweight to reach a shelf on the left where there is a shine sprite.
  • After the area with the save point and the second level with a waterfall in the cave on Keelhaul Key: In the next room there are three buzzy beetles which are easily avoided or make for some decent experience. Walk towards the screen to enter the grotto. Immediately to the right of the doorway there is a shine sprite.


In the cave on Keelhaul Key in the room after Mario must turn into a tube and roll under the spiked wall, there is a shine sprite that can be reached by using Koops to reveal a hidden box.


  • To the very left of West Rogueport, use Bobbery to blow a hole in the cracked wall and find another shine sprite.
  • In Mario’s room on the Excess Express there is a shine sprite hidden behind the lamp in front of the bed.
  • On the Excess Express, get the engineer’s autograph for the small Ba-bomb and he will reward Mario with a shine sprite.
  • At Riverside station on the way to Posheville, at the bottom of the steps in the outside area there is a shine sprite at the bottom of the steps.
  • At Riverside Station there is a room three Goombas. Defeat them to reveal three boxes with a 1, 3, and 10 written on them. This is the number of times you must his each with Mario’s hammer. Do this, and a staircase appears leading to the next level. At the top of the stairs, use Koops to get the shine sprite.
  • To the right of Poshley Sanctum, super jump to get the shine sprite.



In the “painting” section of Poshley Sanctum super jump on the star squares to reach the third level of the left side to find an L Emblem in the background and on the second level of the left side a shine sprite.

  • In the old town center under Rogueport with the crumbled fountain, walk to the back of the area with the rising platform. Super jump to the pipe above, and travel to the right to the top of a column to find a shine sprite.

Underneath Rogueport, walk to the area to the left of the room with the broken fountain in the center. In this area, drop down to the level with the save point and enter the warp pipe leading downward. This room has a long spiked fence and three arched entry ways on the lower level. The first entryway has a warp pipe, walk to the left of the pipe to enter a secret area. Turn Mario into a paper boat and sail through numerous rooms to the right until Mario enters and area with three shine sprites and a Defend Plus badge.

  • After taking the pipe to the Fahr Outpost, in the second area, jump behind the first tree to find a shine sprite.
